Apple modifies Made for iPhone labels

Apple is always in front of the trends when it comes to marketing. Now, Apple has decided to modify its Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod labels.

Made for iPhone

Made for iPhone

The Made for iPhone programme started life as Made for iPod, and expanded to iPhone and iPad. The original labels had icons in the shape of the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Now, the new labels have the simple black Apple logo (the apple shape), not the iconography of each product.

Behind the scenes, manufacturers who wish to use the labels as a sales tool, must submit their design and product to Apple for certification, pass a testing process, and be issued with the artwork which must be included on the packaging.

It's a simple way for manufacturers to sell more accessories, and a good way for Apple to ensure that third party accessories are well-designed and work well (to Apple's specifications) with genuine Apple products.
