Will Microsoft release a cheaper Surface Dock in 2018?

The Surface Dock is awesome. It's heavy, well-built, contains everything you need, and recharges your Surface device. The one problem with the dock is that it's very expensive.
It's even more expensive in Australia, where the dock hits AU$300.
Will Microsoft drop the price, or release a newer smaller more budget-friendly Surface Dock?
The answer is no.
