iMac Pro orders ahead of schedule

People who ordered an iMac Pro were expecting to wait weeks for their order to arrive, with shipping estimates ranging from 3 to 9 weeks. Most orders were due to arrive at the end of January 2018. However, some have slipped out early.

If your love of all things Apple led you to shell out US$5000 to US$13.199 for the new 8, 10, 14, or 18-core iMac Pro, then you'd have been very excited to get your order in the queue. Shipping estimates on Apple's ordering page suggested a 3 to 9 week wait, with 8 amd 10-core versions shipping within 5 weeks, and 14 and 18-core versions shipping in up to 9 weeks, putting them close to the end of January.

However, some lucky people have had their orders ship early.

iMac Pro orders arriving early

Bitten to the core

A 10-core iMac Pro order arrived in less than 2 weeks, and an 18-core order estimate has been updated to arrive on January 9 instead of January 30.

It looks like Apple is counting its cores. Apple core, get it? :)

The joy of a new not-a-Windows-PC

Keeping the love alive inside the Apple ecosystem, those lucky few who receive their new iMac Pros before Christmas will revel in their sleek Space Grey enclosure, glorious 5k screen, Thunderbolt 3, and keep the fingerprints off their new space grey keyboard, mouse, and trackpad with a cleaning cloth.

Finally, we can look forward to watching Netflix in real time -- um, I mean, processing video and calculating huge spreadsheets -- with all that extra processing power, RAM, and video card juice.

Until next time,
