Everyone's favourite Android phone manufacturer, Samsung, is set to release its next flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+ phone in mid December. Anticipated to launch between 12th and 15th December, the phones will feature a range of minor improvements and at least two compelling new features.
Runaway Success
The Samsung Galaxy S8 was a runaway success, beating the pants off the iPhone 7 and 8, and stealing sales from competing Android phones. The new Galaxy S9 will be aiming for a repeat performance, this time challenging the iPhone X (pronounced "iPhone Ten", not "iPhone Ex"), and challenging next years range of three sizes of the new 2018 iPhone.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ also face off against late 2017 Android phones, including the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the Razer Phone, and a broad range of competitors from LG, OnePlus, and others.
As for features, at this stage we expect:
upgraded faster fast-charging with a cable plugged in
upgraded wireless charging
a slightly curvier screen at the edges
narrower top and bottom bezels
improved front and rear cameras
support for the latest high capacity microSD cards
improved Bixby integration
a new wireless charging pad
Will Samsung's wireless charging beat the Apple's wireless charging ambitions?
Ready, Set, Go!
Look out for the launch of the new phones between 12th and 15th December 2017.
Until next time,
