Potentially one of the very first Qualcomm-powered laptops, the ASUS Nova Series will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip in a laptop-style enclosure. Without the constraints of a thin tablet body style, the Nova will feature more ports and a bigger battery.
Size matters, and having the ports you need often matters more. Without being constrained by a tablet form factor, the ASUS Nova includes everyone's favourite USB-A ports, HDMI, SD card slot, speakers, camera, keyboard, trackpad, and a 13 inch display.
The lower deck features a sizeable battery under the keyboard, and with the light power requirements of the Snapdragon chip, may only need to be charged once a week, making this a carry-anywhere portable laptop.
Features are tipped to include: 2x USB-A ports, 1x USB-C port, HDMI, SD card slot, full size laptop-style keyboard, trackpad, speakers, a 13 inch display, and Windows 10 S.
While optimised for Windows 10 S, it can be upgraded for free to WIndows 10 Pro via download until September 2018, after which you can upgrade for a small fee via the Windows Store.
ASUS, Microsoft, and Qualcomm are expected to put their heads together and market the Snapdragon powered devices under the 'Always Connected PC' nomenclature.
