Is the entry-level Surface Pro 4 with Core m processor being phased out? It seems so. Retailers are offering steep discounts on the entry-level model.
One model of the Surface Pro 4, featuring the Intel Core m3 processor, 4gb of RAM, 128gb SSD, Surface Pen, and no Type Cover, was retailing for AU$1349 from the Microsoft online store and at most other retail outlets.
Discounted from AU$1349 to Under AU$900
A recent promotion before Christmas dropped the price to just AU$999, without the Surface Pen. After Christmas, the same deal can be had with an extra AU$100 off, making the tablet computer AU$899 (without the Surface Pen). Described as a "bonus offer" at JB HiFi, the same device is advertised at Domayne for an even better price of just AU$888 without a Surface Pen.
The Surface Pen can be purchased separately for AU$99. However, the Microsoft online store is now offering the Surface Pen for just AU$94.95 including tax and with free delivery, a further saving of $5: buy yourself a coffee with the spare change.
The not-included but very necessary Type Cover is also available on a Boxing Day Sale from the Microsoft Store for AU$199.95. We prefer the darker blue (almost purple) one. There is also the option of the luxury Signature Edition AlcantaraTM type cover for AU$249.95.
Enjoy your Surface.
Until next time,
